Dartmoor Sphere with crosses

This is an exceptional example of one of my Dartmoor pots glazed using a rare granulite rock. The body is made from Dartmoor clays with quartz and my own Dartmoor grog. The glaze is made entirely from Dartmoor rocks, mostly the granulite, which has a lithium content, giving an unusual colour response. It is a semi matt glaze, which is pink in colour, with some gold, breaking to a textured and clear pale blue glaze, which has run to a drip in the side. It was fired on its side in a wood kiln.
